By the time we got around to tracking this song, the band was in a frenzy of touring, interviewing and marketing themselves.  John Custer, as both producer and guitarist, was getting stretched pretty thin, and this demo was nearly permanently shelved before the vocals were even tracked.  I hounded Reed for a couple of months, and finally he relented and we tracked all the vocals.  Custer had laid two separate solo tracks, and could not decide what to do with the solo.  I took over the producer's role, and finished the song, mixing what would be a truly great anthem.
