This song was recorded probably a half-dozen different ways... we tried everything... including having Terry lie down on the floor while tracking vocals.  What we ended up with is a very cool blend of the drums from an early rock version, the acoustic guitars from a ballad version, and backing vocals and lap steel from the ethereal version (the one where Terry was lying down).
